This Woman Allegedly Tried To Run Someone Down With Her Car Over A Cinnamon Bun

The lady in the mugshot up top, 34-year-old Amy Joe Derepentigny of Myrtle Beach, S.C., has been charged with attempted murder after she tried to hit an unnamed victim with her car over a disagreement stemming from a cinnamon bun.

Derepentigny has also been charged with unlawful neglect of a child because when the incident occurred, she had a 13-year-old child in the passenger seat of the car that she was allegedly using as a murder weapon. Because when you’re already making such crack decisions, you might as well just be like ¯_(ツ)_/¯, right?

The Charlotte Observer has more details:

An investigation revealed that Derepentigny and the victim of the alleged attempted murder had argued at a local gas station about not having enough money for a cinnamon bun before driving to the home where the incident happened, police said.

Derepentigny told the victim, “If you step in front of this car, I’ll run you over,” according to the arrest warrant. Derepentigny then quickly accelerated toward the victim and attempted to strike him in a 2000 Ford Expedition, police said.

The victim was apparently able to avoid being hit by employing some “high stepping,” and Derepentigny’s car instead crashed into the fence of a nearby apartment building. Good luck to this lady’s lawyer because I would really hate to be the one to tell her that they don’t serve cinnamon buns in jail.
