Trey Songz & The R&B Divas

It’s still somewhat crazy to see how far Trey Songz has come in the past five years. Rewinding back to my high school years, dude was a local prodigy who was known to jack popular beats and add his own two cents to ’em. Yup, seems like yesterday when there would be barbershop arguments on how far his talent would actually take him. While he’s still got a considerable distance to go to truly maximize his potential, Petersburg, Va.’s own still stands as one of the more popular names in R&B. After dropping two impressive R&B albums this year (Anticipation was an album in my book), Trey’s back on his hustle by hooking up with two icons of the rhythm and blues genre, Mary J. Blige and Mariah Carey.

“Hood Love” finds Trey and The Queen bouncing harmonies back and forth for a smooth, melodic ride. Mrs. Cannon, on the other hand, invites Songz to remix her album cut, “Inseperable,” something he’s done successfully on more than one occasion throughout his career.

On a related note, if you’re a user of Twitter, your timeline was likely highjacked the other day because of dude’s newest visual. It literally had damn near every female ready to go half on a baby (no pun intended).
