Twitter Suspends Account Of Journalist Who’s Been Ripping NBC To Shreds In His Tweets

Look, if you read UPROXX, you know we don’t think highly of some of the execs who make programming decisions over at NBC, and you’ve probably heard how everyone on Twitter hates them for the way they’re handling broadcasting the Olympics — a clusterf*ck of bygone happenings and Ryan Seacrest interviews with athletes. Nevertheless, this, via Deadspin, is chilling.

Guy Adams is The Independent’s Los Angeles bureau chief. During the Olympics so far, he has carved out a nice spot on the how-much-NBC’s-coverage-sucks beat. Now his Twitter account has been suspended—supposedly because NBC had it cut off after he complained.

What kind of horrible, disgusting things did Adams say about NBC? Here’s a sampling…

Am I alone in wondering why NBColympics think its acceptable to pretend this road race is being broadcast live?

Matt Lauer would do well to shut up, wouldn’t he?

If only someone had invented a technology to help us actually see this. Oh, wait… MT @NBCOlympics: Muhammad Ali is one of the flag bearers

America’s left coast forced to watch Olympic ceremony on SIX HOUR time delay. Disgusting money-grabbing by @NBColympics https://t.co/bQxKCCdj

I have 1000 channels on my TV. Not one will be showing the Olympics opening ceremony live. Because NBC are utter, utter bastards.

The man responsible for NBC pretending the Olympics haven’t started yet is Gary Zenkel. Tell him what u think! Email: Gary.zenkel@nbcuni.com

Doesn’t seem all that bad to me! Hell, in fact it’s virtually indistinguishable from the rest of my Twitter feed. I guess it’s only a matter of time before they come for all of our Twitter feeds. Lock and loads, you guys!

For it’s part, Twitter says that it suspended Adams’ account because “posting an individual’s private information” is not allowed. However, Adams posted the NBC execs’ corporate email address, not his personal info. It is posted, in fact, on NBC’s website — not really all that private if you ask me.

Hmmm…I wonder of this has anything to do with Twitter and NBC forming a partnership? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
