Allow Vanilla Ice To Demonstrate How One Probably Shouldn’t Act At An Airport After Missing A Flight

Vanilla Ice (a.k.a. Robert Van Winkle) is currently embarking on his “I Love the ’90s” tour along with Salt-N-Pepa, Coolio, Kid ‘n Play, and Color Me Badd, among others, and it was en route to a concert in Nebraska over the weekend that the above incident played out in Atlanta International Airport. According to the woman who captured the video, who writes on YouTube that she “doesn’t think this is news, but thought she’d share anyway,” (we will be the judge of that!) the whole thing started when Ice walked up to board while talking on his phone 10 minutes after the boarding cutoff.

Naturally he wasn’t allowed on the plane, and for anyone who remembers Ice’s hot temper from when he appeared on the Surreal Life back in 2004, this unsurprisingly did not sit well with him. The woman filming describes what happened next in the YouTube description:

Vanilla Ice threw his ticket at the guy and started cussing at him. The guy walked away and then 5 minutes later a woman employee came to the desk. He started cussing at the woman and threw his ticket at her. Then the video shows the rest. I thought he was done, so I stopped recording. He stormed out of the area screaming and cussing at a man who was trying to help the employee. The guy had on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt on and he commented about how he didn’t deserve to wear the shirt and needed to take it off. Really? That was one of Vanilla Ice’s comebacks?

In the video Ice claims that he had been waiting in the seating area near the terminal the whole time, and never heard anyone call him to board, or final board for that matter. It will also likely come as a shock that he didn’t appreciate the advice of the bystander who told him, “You gotta watch the monitor, dude.” Ice shot back, “Hey, I don’t need any information from you, man. Shut your [expletive] mouth … You don’t work here, shut up.”

Ice eventually stormed off without getting on his flight, apparently, but the good news is that one way or another he made it to Nebraska for his show after all — according to updates he later posted on Twitter.

This is worth mentioning if only to point out that Vanilla Ice’s Twitter feed is a veritable treasure trove of random thoughts.

Perhaps next time he’s at the airport he should take his own advice? #SmilesAreContagious
