John Cena Responds To The Rock…With A Battle Rap?

For the past week, the wrestling world has been eagerly awaiting John Cena’s response to The Rock tearing him apart on Monday Night RAW seven days ago. Cena opened this week’s show with his own 10 minutes to go at the People’s Champ. What a lot of people don’t realize is that this feud is a very real one. The Rock and John Cena legitimately dislike each other as Cena took a few shots at The Great One two years ago:

“Associating with sports entertainment doesn’t do much for his acting career. I get it.

“Just don’t f*** me around and tell me that you love this.

“That’s the only thing that gets me really p***ed off.

“Our fan base have so much admiration for him, he’s got to respect that. He doesn’t give anything back.”

That’s why The Rock couldn’t wait to verbally tear into Cena last week. And you better believe Vince McMahon loves this. He enjoys when two guys genuinely dislike each other. It makes the promos more realistic and the gloves come off. Vince just gives them a live mic and says “go for it”. Cena did just that, reverting back to his battle rap persona that made him so popular to begin with. He was also allowed to get rid of his PG image for a bit to make it a fair fight.

That was solid and much better than expected, but Cena is going to get eaten alive on the mic by The Rock. They’re going to have to pull Rocky back or he’s going to leave a destroyed star behind when it’s all said and done.

The highlight of the night, though, didn’t come from Cena’s bars. It came when The Undertaker made his long-awaited return. The crowd knew he was coming back last night, but the surprise guest that came to challenge him. The atmosphere was off the charts.

So, our tentative Wrestlemania XXVII card so far looks like this:

WWE Championship Match: The Miz vs. John Cena (With The Rock probably as a guest referee or enforcer)

World Championship Match: Edge vs. Albert Del Rio (With Christian possibly getting thrown in there)

C.M. Punk vs. Randy Orton

Triple H vs. The Undertaker

Add in the fact that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in attendance, meaning we’ll see a face-off with The Rock and the biggest wrestling event of the year is looking pretty stacked so far.
