Tonight’s Conan has a cold opening that might go down as one of the best things he’s done since moving to TBS. It’s certainly better than anything he could’ve done on The Tonight Show, even with the bigger budget.
The show completely morphs into a full on homage to The Walking Dead in honor of the entire cast stopping by for an interview, complete with Conan going full zombie. The look is right, there are a few easter eggs and in-jokes to point out, and it’s all wrapped up with the kind of self-deprecating humor that he’s come to be known for.
I really don’t want to talk too much about it, other than to say just watch and enjoy. I need to go set my DVR immediately, but not before at least sharing this:
It’s fitting that Conan would go all out on Jay Leno’s “final” appearance in the late night arena. We’ll have to see who gets the last laugh.
