Here’s The 9/11 Joke That Had To Be Cut From Norm Macdonald’s Podcast

This video has been floating around for about a year, but it’s only now picking up steam, thanks to Reddit. Back in Season 1 of Norm Macdonald’s weekly Norm Macdonald Live podcast, when he had Nick Swardson on as a guest, he apparently told this 9/11 joke that got cut. In his typical dry, Norm Macdonald style, he deadpans:

For the ninth consecutive year, Nick, Jet Blue airlines ranked first for satisfaction in all American airlines. But you know what ranked least in satisfaction? … 9/11 airlines. What a terrible name for an airline, it reminds me of that tragedy.

I have to admit, I laughed. Although the part at the end kind of goes off the rails when he talks about the “blood and bones” he walked through looking for his brother, who as it turns out was in northern Canada, which is probably why it got the axe.

But I don’t know if I could ever be truly offended by anything Norm Macdonald has to say. This is the guy who made Jon Stewart cry actual tears of laughter by ridiculing the death of a beloved television personality just a few days after his passing. No, really. Steve Irwin died on Sept. 4, 2006, and Norm’s Daily Show appearance was only 10 days later. The guy is pretty much untouchable.
