Watch This Hero Run Into A Burning Home To Save A Man Inside

On Saturday morning, a duplex caught on fire in east-central Fresno, California. As the blaze got more serious, a woman (who can you hear in the video) screams that her father is still inside. With bystanders lurking around not knowing what to do, an unknown man in a Dodgers hat (:50 mark) comes running into the scene. He disappears for a few moments before a loud explosion sends everyone scurrying.

There’s a lot of panic and then, miraculously, the man appears with the father draped over his shoulder.

The whole thing looks like something out of a movie. Just a random guy walking down the street, saving people from burning buildings. HERO!

Some more details from the Fresno Bee.

As Lederach continued to shoot video — one arm around the woman holding the baby — the unknown rescuer went inside the burning home and carried the man, who had been hooked up to an oxygen tank for respiratory problems, to the safety of the sidewalk.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Lederach said. “I was so relieved, I just wanted to cry.”

The rescued man — whose identity also was not released — was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation, said Kris Townsend, a spokesman for the Fresno Fire Department.

The rescuer appeared to have “come out of nowhere,” Lederach said. “He just calmly walked right in there and then came walking right back out with this guy.”

Lederach said the rescued man “was visibly shaken and wiping his brow; very sweaty.”
