This NYC Firefighter Proposes To His Elementary School Teacher Girlfriend In The Most Adorable Way

Are you done with work for the day? Good, because this impossibly sweet proposal video will render you a gooey wreck for the next hour or so. Or make you barf because everyone’s found love but you. Both are winning options!

New York City firefighter David Royael popped the question to his elementary school teacher girlfriend Natalie Moy with a move that feels plucked from a frothy Hallmark Channel Original Movie. Under the guise of coming into her class to provide a fire safety presentation, this slick honeydripper used the format to slyly weave in his proposal. As Natalie tried on firefighter garb to the delight of the kids in her class, one piece of the wardrobe contained a special accessory that we don’t think qualifies as standard fire department gear. Natalie admitted to WABC-TV that she didn’t clue into the ring’s presence at first.

“I did feel something, but I don’t know,” she said. “I thought it was a device, part of the glove.”

As you may have gathered from the headline not reading “Firefighter Heartbroken After Failed Proposal,” that little ring related hiccup quickly morphed into a very romantic turn of events. Natalie’s expression when she clues in to the proposal? Priceless. Mix that in with some very excited students and you’ve got a magic moment on your hands.

WABC-TV says a wedding date hasn’t been locked down as of yet, but the newly engaged couple are aiming to tie the knot next year. Based on the 68,000+ views this video’s racked up since Sunday, there might be a few well-wishers budgeting for a wedding gift already.
