Russell Brand was scheduled to appear on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program Hannity, but after Sean Hannity cancelled the comedian’s appearance on the show, Brand decided to take his show, The Trews to Fox News headquarters. Things escalated pretty quickly:
As Brand starts warming to his theme, the filming is interrupted by security guards who request that the comedian and his cameraman remove themselves from outside the building.
The guard claims, gesturing at the pavement, “You can’t film here, this is private property.”
When Mr Brand questions him, asking who owns the building, the guard responds: “It doesn’t matter, do you want to get arrested?”
To his credit, Brand tried to roll with the punches. He asked the security guards who owned the property, presumably so his crew could cover their bases or more likely or so he could call their bluff since he had every right to be there.
Eventually, Brand and his crew headed inside the building and asked for a tour. He is told definitively no before being asked to go back outside.
Sean Hannity and his producers might have been trying to avoid controversy or unwanted attention by canceling Russell Brand’s appearance on Hannity. The problem is Brand’s appearance at Fox News will now keep the right-wing pundit and his network in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

I would imagine they cancelled the interview because Brand would own Hannity in a debate. Wouldn’t even be close.
How so?
I think Russell Brand was seeing the writing on the wall for the twilight of his career and determined that he’d start trolling an easy target, in exchange for staying relevant, and getting stories published like this, that keep him ‘trending’. We can call it the “Miller” or “Maher” effect in comedy careers. The reverse effect, which we shall call the “Cosby”, is when someone has enough money, fame, and legend, to not need to make political contributions to mass-media, but still do, because they actually care, and aren’t grabbing for attention, or stuck in a dead-end.
I thought a “Cosby” is when you drug women and rape them and get away with it and be all smug and shit towards others.
Even though I am a registered Republican with similar values as most traditional Right Sided party members, Russell Brand has made an interesting point through actions one can say was valiant and blunt.
Certainly stirs the pot enough to reason out where is the logic and where is the overly-biased voices in FOX?

What makes you so certain Russel Brand has a right to be there? 1211 Ave of the Americas is privately owned I believe, and depending on where he was he would need permission to film.
In any case – Fox News is terrible and Russel Brand is awful. This is like cheering for Alien or Predator – no matter who wins we all lose.
I find it interesting how quickly people are prepared to go all “Yeah yeah yeah, who cares what he’s saying, I hate him so I can’t even be bothered with actually listening to, or thinking about, anything he says.”

While I am happy that some of my favorite Uproxx writers are starting to get paid as Uproxx becomes a more popular set of sites, it sucks that the comments sections have devolved so quickly. Remember back when articles like this would come up and 99% of the comments were jokes about dicks and buttholes? Now it’s like half political opinions and religious intolerance. If I wanted that I would read the comments of Yahoo sports blogs.
There will always be ignorant ass holes on the internet who shoot down anything that has to do with truth. Even if Brand is legit, or not, at least he’s an activist.
