Because the NFL is in a new era of concussion awareness, Robert Griffin III is starting a week after sustaining one of those mild head injuries that made him forget where he was and why he was Batman. RGIII reportedly apologized to his teammates this week, vowing to change his style of play. Meanwhile, Kyle Shanahan told the media that he doesn’t envision any forthcoming changes for the way the team uses their rookie quarterback. WHY MUST YOU MAKE A LIAR OF BOB GRIFF, KYLE!?

Anyway, EvoShield protection to be put to the test today. Jared Allen will see if that thing deflects crossbow shots.

The Patriots travel to Seattle, known to Peter King hate-readers as Remoteville Where The Sun Is Not Respected, to take on the last head coach the team had before the reign of Grumblelord in Massholia. Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes is apparently unnerved by the creepy dimness and the sickening pallor of the locals. You would imagine he’d encounter plenty of that around Boston, too.

You may have heard that the Giants-49ers tilt is a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game. Despite its benefits for those in the business of spreading narrative, revenge for a playoff loss doesn’t tend to shake out well as a deciding factor in subsequent games, as shown this week by National Football Post.

Visa is also now running the above ad for the opportunity to swap predatory rates for the chance to be in a football locker room. Once there, you can trade stories with the athletes about foolish purchases leading you to bankruptcy. Unfortunately, their stories will be better.

Bills tight end Dorin Dickerson this morning posted this picture. I would like to think of this as a 5Chan punishment, but everyone looks a bit too happy for that to be a possibility. Perhaps it’s part of the new Bills slogan, “Comfortable with losing, comfortable with ourselves.”
