You’d think Gamora is something of an open book; green skin, kicks faces, probably somebody you shouldn’t antagonize. But there’s a bit more to her, according to Zoe Saldana.
Mostly this preview is amusing for Star-Lord’s sad, sad attempts to flirt with her, which appear to end, for most of the movie, with her beating him up. We’re assuming that eventually he wears down her hard exterior, considering their romance has been played up in recent marketing materials. Or maybe she just realizes her hookup options on this team aren’t that great.
Weirdly, this video is tied to an article largely about Chris Pratt, who got the role because the audition process infuriated him:
“James said, ‘Do you have any questions?’” the actor explained. “I said, ‘Do I have any questions? Of course, I have questions! Marvel’s not going to let me read the script, I have no f—ing idea of what I’m doing, I don’t know this character, I don’t have any goddamn sides. Do I have any questions? How long do you have?’ And he was like, ‘That’s what Peter Quill would say.’”
Good point, actually. We’ll see if that casting process paid off August 1st.
