Anderson Cooper Is Having None Of Newt Gingrich’s Ridiculousness With Megyn Kelly

Earlier this week, Newt Gingrich, who stole Christmas in 1978 and still hasn’t given it back, appeared on Fox News’ The Kelly File, where he and host Megyn Kelly calmly discussed Donald Trump’s lewd comments about “grabbing” women. And by “calmly discussed,” I mean, the former speaker of the House accused Kelly of being “fascinated with sex.” She responded, “You know what Mr. Speaker, I’m not fascinated by sex, but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office…”

Anderson Cooper dipped his toes into Lake Newt on Wednesday evening, and found it to be cold and slimy. Speaking on his Anderson Cooper 360 program, the CNN personality and part-time debate moderator said, “For Newt Gingrich to accuse Megyn Kelly of being fascinated by sex. This is a guy who is, what, on his third marriage, cheated on his first two wives, and was having an affair while he was impeaching Bill Clinton.” He added, “For a male like him with his record on relationships to accuse Megyn Kelly of being fascinated by sex, just seems like a particularly ironic thing.” With all due respect to Alanis Morissette, CNN contributor Ana Navarro thinks “ironic” isn’t the right word.

“You said ironic. I think the word you’re looking for is hypocritical,” she told Cooper. “Sexual assault and sex are two different things. One is unwanted, one is wanted, so maybe they need to understand that to begin with.”
