Glenn Beck Faced A Secret Service Visit Following This Misunderstood Joke About Stabbing Donald Trump

Yes, right wing pundit Glenn Beck has called Donald Trump a psychopath before. No, he didn’t threaten to stab Donald Trump on his radio show (or so it seems). But yes, the Secret Service is investigating him over it.

CBS 11 reports that Beck and his producer were discussing the other candidates and whether they would vote for Trump if he was the nominee. In doing so, Beck used a common expression in a slightly wrong way. As you can see in the video above, he said, “I don’t know what I would’ve done if I were sitting in their shoes.”

Beck’s producer thought it would be funny to joke, “You can’t sit in their shoes. I mean, what, does he have gigantic shoes?” Beck then replies, “If I were close enough and I had a knife. Really. I mean, the stabbing just wouldn’t stop.”

If you were wondering whether Beck was indeed (jokingly!) threatening his producer, the man in question, Stu Burguiere, confirmed as much, as Gawker points out:

Yet the Dallas Secret Service still stopped by The Blaze, which hosts Beck’s show. The Secret Service has confirmed to CBS 11 that they are conducting a follow up investigation.

This may just be protocol, since the Secret Service does protect presidential candidates. In the meantime, let’s remember that Glenn Beck recently posited a conspiracy theory that God killed late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
