You Have To See These Superb Drawings Representing Every NBA Playoff Series

These drawings are pretty awesome. Each features a literal translation, or approximation of the team logos they represent. So for the above, it’s a Warrior attacking a Pelican. The first set were originally shared by the artist’s boyfriend on Imgur, the image-hosting site, a couple weeks ago — with eight drawings for each first-round series.

Here they all are, repping the first round, but there’s more behind them than just how well the artist has captured the literal battle between team logos.

Very cool. The same person shared four drawings for the Conference Semifinals yesterday, and we noticed something had changed. That’s right, he got engaged to the artist. We like to think the first round of the NBA Playoffs had something to do with the engagement. The semifinal round art by the man’s now-fiancé included a keepsake in each rendering from their own first-round win.

So the Hawks below have entrails of the Nets on their wings, and the Wizard has the Raptor’s tooth around his neck.

In this one, it’s hard to tell, but the Cavalier has a shillelagh from defeating the Celtics’ leprechaun in round one (cue morose Kevin Love), and the Bulls have a piece of the Bucks around their left horn.

The Clippers have a cowboy boot and spur on the bow of the boat as a figurehead from their delirious seven-game win over the defending champs. The Rocket has a horseshoe image on their ship from the Maverick they eliminated in round one.

And here, we have a Pelican feathers around the right bicep of the Golden State Warrior, and the Grizzly bear has tatters of the Trail Blazer’s shirt in its claw.

Terrific combination of art, logo and love! We wish the married couple to be the very best future together, and we have no doubt the union will work since it’s got a nice NBA foundation.
