The Cavs Got A Technical Foul Because LeBron Decided He Didn’t Want To Play Anymore

The Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a victory against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night and LeBron James had himself quite a night in the process. Despite finishing just two assists shy of a triple-double (19 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists) LeBron’s effort may be brought into question after this gaffe in the third quarter.

Following a dead ball, LeBron walked off the court and straight to the Cavs bench, where he took a seat despite Cleveland not having a sub at the scorer’s table ready to replace him. With the Cavs down a man on the floor, the Hawks inbounded the ball and took off up the court, trying to capitalize on the “power play.” Unfortunately, that only works in hockey, but at least the Hawks were rewarded a free throw thanks to the technical foul the Cavs received as a result of the play.

Who else could get away with such a thing? Not too many guys, I’d say. Is it wrong to wish Cleveland lost by a point just to see how people would react to this whole thing? Probably, but I still do.
