Steph Curry may have scored 46 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but Draymond Green wasn’t exactly a slouch either, scoring 23 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing 12 assists, one of which was this beauty of an alley-oop to the slimmed-down Andrew Bogut.
At first glance, it might look like Klay Thompson, but it is indeed Bogut, who shed nearly 20 pounds this season after cutting sugar out of his diet entirely. Bogut’s always been an underrated leaper, even when he was heavier, but his new, skinnier form enhances that leaping ability. It also allows him to move better on his feet, getting to spots faster and making quicker cuts, like he does here.
Green’s pass is on point, which is hardly surprising. By now, Green might be the Warriors’ second-best player, and it’s not even all that close. Klay is a great player, as is Andre Iguodala. However, Green impacts the game in more areas on both ends of the floor, especially with Klay’s early-season struggles. That’s quite the accomplishment from a former second-round pick, and it shows you why the Warriors didn’t think twice about paying him when he hit restricted free agency last summer.
