Boban Marjanovic is 7-foot-3, so he lives around the rim. His height and place of residence benefited him Sunday, as the Spurs’ big man followed a Danny Green miss by dunking the ball while barely getting off the ground.
Then Marjanovic gave the Mavericks’ Jeremy Evans a hug because, well, who knows? We all crave human contact? He wanted to celebrate a work accomplishment and Evans was the closest person? The Mavericks were wearing those sweet green jerseys? Life is full of mysteries.
After the game, Marjanovic gave a simple explanation.

“I must enjoy.” Oh, Boban. If only more athletes were willing to bite into the peach of life and let the juices dribble down their chins like you. Don’t ever lose that love of the game, please.
Marjanovic also picked up a technical foul on the play, as he appeared to whisper something into Evans’ ear during the hug. It had a Patrick Swayze/Demi Moore in Ghost feel to it, but referees felt otherwise.
When asked why he got the technical, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich also kept it simple.

Pop just continues his “whatever” stance on just about everything. But who cares — certainly not Pop. The Spurs won 112-83. Let’s all enjoy the dunk and hug one last time.
