The Phoenix Suns have already found their replacement for Goran Dragic. Just minutes after news broke that the team traded its disgruntled lefty to the Miami Heat, reports emerged that All-Star snub Brandon Knight was headed to Phoenix from the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Philadelphia Sixers are also involved in the three-team trade – they’re sending reigning Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams to the Bucks.
The price for Carter-Williams is said to be a first-round pick. Make that two additional draft selections in the top-30 for Sam Hinkie today; we wouldn’t expect anything less.
Meanwhile, the Suns have also dealt Isaiah Thomas – once thought to be a hold-up to Dragic’s future in Phoenix – to the Boston Celtics in a deal influenced by the tree-teamer above.
ESPN reports that the Sixers almost acquired Thomas from Phoenix directly, but instead opted for more flexibility and allowed Boston to swoop-in at the last minute.
For those of you keeping score at home: Knight to Phoenix; Carter-Williams, Plumlee, and Ennis to Milwaukee; at least one first-rounder to Philadelphia; and Thomas to Boston.
Wild. And there’s unquestionably more to come.
