Nikola Mirotic Buried A Half-Court Buzzer Beater To Silence Cleveland

Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers has been a dandy through three quarters, with the Cavs going on multiple runs only to see the Bulls claw their way back into the game. Cleveland’s latest run had them up 12 points as time wound down to end the third quarter, and the Quicken Loans Arena was thunderously loud.

Then Nikola Mirotic, the bearded rookie gunner, coolly swished from half court to deny fans at the Q the opportunity to send their Cavs into the TV timeout with a standing ovation. Instead, there were simply groans and silence. Mirotic barely even reacted, which is a real shame.

The Bulls were still down 8 entering the fourth quarter, but cutting it to single digits was a big step, and they’re too tough to be counted out.
