Everyone was so sure the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors would play their way into a third straight NBA Finals matchup that it looks like some Cavs merchandise went up for sale a bit too early.
Some NBA fans noticed conference championship merchandise for sale for the Cavaliers after their Game 4 win on Tuesday night.

Problem is: the series isn’t over yet. Cleveland can advance to the NBA Finals on Thursday night with a Game 5 win in Boston, and Game 4’s win only put them up 3-1 in the series. That’s far from an insurmountable lead in a conference final, and honestly a bit of a surprise given that most expected a resounding sweep after the first two games in Boston.
Yahoo Sports conducted a search on the Dick’s website after Game 4 and, sure enough, a ton of merchandise was available for about a dozen hours before they realized the series was not over.
I’d expect to see all of the merchandise shown above available for good once Cleveland wraps things up. All that stuff is designed weeks or even months in advance. It’s just a matter of which team we are allowed to see designs from. In this case, we got a bit of an early look.
