DeMarcus Cousins has a bit of a reputation around the NBA as being a headache for coaches (both his own and opponents’), but Mike Krzyzewski apparently isn’t buying into that. Coach K will have Cousins on his roster when Team USA heads to Rio for the Summer Olympics, and the longtime Duke coach seems excited about it.

Krzyzewski previously coached Cousins during the 2014 FIBA tournament, where the U.S. won gold. Coach K held him in pretty high regard back then as well.

As for Boogie, he seems pretty excited about being a part of the international team, too.

Cousins’ relationship with the Sacramento Kings has been tumultuous at times and there have been rumors floating around this offseason that the team may look to move him sooner rather than later. His recent comments about not understanding the Kings’ offseason moves probably aren’t going to further endear him to Vlade Divac and other members of the front office, either.

Who knows, maybe Cousins is in such great shape and so excited for the Olympics not only because he wants to win a gold medal, but also because he wants to use the tournament as a showcase for what he can bring to another team next season.
