Few, if any, NBA players have a shoe game that matches that of Blazers guard Damian Lillard. The Portland star proved that earlier this year with the fire D Lillard 2 Rip City, and on Tuesday, he took his latest step towards dominating the sneaker world by releasing his third signature shoe, Dame 3.
“With this being my third shoe, it’s all about appreciation for the people that went out of their way so I’d be able to hoop growing up,” Lillard said in a release. “There were a lot of things that happened where if I didn’t have a strong support system – it probably would’ve drowned me. But my family helped me rise up, and now I want to inspire and encourage everyone else to do the same thing.”
The kicks are, to the surprise of no one, gorgeous. Here are the special sneakers he’s wearing in the above pic, the limited Dame 3 Roots.
“Working with adidas, every step of the way is about telling my story,” Lillard said. “It’s allowing kids and people to relate to what I’ve been through. Everything has a story behind it. The Dame 3 Roots will drop on Dec. 14 and will cost $115. The special edition Dame 3 Rip City kicks are coming on Jan. 19.
