Draymond Green Is Fine Calling LeBron James The Best Ever Under One Condition

After surpassing Michael Jordan to become the NBA’s All-Time Playoff scoring leader, the subject of LeBron James‘ greatness once again became a hotly-debated topic. The MJ-LeBron comparisons draw the ire of many since the Hall of Fame guard is a legend who won six championships. Others disagree with this argument and strongly believe that James is indeed greater than Jordan due to his longevity and body of work. This whole debate is, of course, subjective, yet for Warriors All-Star Draymond Green, it seems foolish to not appreciate James’ greatness.

For Green, it doesn’t matter that the Warriors are about to face off against LeBron and the Cavs in the Finals for the third straight year; James’ greatness shouldn’t be questioned. However, although that’s how much respect Green has for James, the Warriors All-Star still confidently believes that his team will beat the Cavs in the Finals.

“It don’t really matter,” Green said in an interview with Good Morning America. “He can have that title. He just can’t have this ring. … Our goal isn’t to make everyone say, ‘Hey, LeBron isn’t the greatest player of all time.’ More power to him. Go ahead. At the end of the day, it’s all subjective anyway.

“… I can care less if anyone says LeBron is the greatest of all time. The only thing I care about is they can’t say LeBron is a 2017 NBA champion.”

Now since Green praises James, this isn’t truly bulletin board material for the Cavs. It is, however, a sign of how passionate Green is about the Warriors redeeming themselves after last year’s Finals folly by winning the championship this year.

But we’ll see if Green’s boast will come to fruition starting with Game 1 of the 2017 Finals on Thursday.
