Gerald Green is nothing if not entertaining. In a pair of Instagram posts Wednesday, the high-flier proved he’s still got more hops than 95 percent of the planet. Both videos are in super slow-mo for added dramatic effect, and the first shows him getting his head completely above the rim, while the second is just your effortless, run-of-the-mill, cock-back jam from a self-alley-oop off the wall. No big deal.

Following yet another loss in the 2013 Dunk Contest, Green has said that he won’t participate in the event anymore, which is really a shame since NBA fans everywhere would love to see him in a showdown with reigning dunk champ Zach LaVine. Unfortunately, we might all have to settle for fleeting videos like the ones he posted today and/or the impromptu epic dunk-offs he occasionally hosts post-practice, like the one he did with teammate Archie Goodwin last December.
After a disappointing season in Phoenix – which ended with some nasty sparring in the media between his agent and Suns management – Green has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Heat. This is familiar territory for the hyper-athletic swing-man, who’s once again in the position of proving that his worth in the league extends beyond his explosiveness as a leaper.
