Cleveland Cavaliers swingman and burgeoning music video star Iman Shumpert was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Atlanta. The team announced the news in a statement on Friday morning, and will observe legal proceedings before acting further.

“The Cavaliers have discussed the situation with Iman and will monitor the progression of the pending case. A court date has not been set at this point, and neither Iman or the team will have any additional comments while the matter progresses through the legal process.”

The incident occurred last month near Shumpert’s home. The Fayette County police pulled him over after what was described as a lane violation. According to Fox 8 in Cleveland, officers found a jar of marijuana and cigars in Shumpert’s car. Shumpert then failed a sobriety test, and was taken to the Fayette County Jail.

Shumpert signed a four-year, $40 million extension prior to the 2015-16 season, which if you recall, ended up being a pretty good season for the Cavaliers and their long suffering fans. Shumpert will now await the NBA’s ruling on this infraction, which will almost certainly include a suspension of at least a few games.
