Watch Jahlil Okafor Rudely Reject This Prank Dunk Attempt

Former Duke big man Jahlil Okafor is in the running to be the top overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, a selection that belongs to the Minnesota Timberwolves. His main competition is Karl-Anthony Towns, who is commonly believed to be the superior defensive player. Well, how’s this for defense?

Dunk pranks are good because they’re lighthearted and funny, and no one’s feelings get hurt (or at least they shouldn’t). But when Maggie Gray was interviewing Okafor for SI Now, Sports Illustrated college basketball editor David Gardner and NBA editor Matt Dollinger bit off way more than they could chew. I know Okafor gets grief for his defense, and it’s a toy hoop, but he’s still a 6-foot-10 man who’s roughly a billion times better at basketball than Dollinger, the attempted dunker. No way is he letting that weak-ass sh*t up in his house.

Regardless, all three of the SI people involved in the prank see it as a success because they made it on the SportsCenter Not Top 10, which is an honor, to be sure:

Dollinger wasn’t satisfied to simply be on SportsCenter, though. He needs everyone to know that it was he who was brutally rejected.

We see you, Matt, and we also recognize your propensity for doing weird basketball stuff. Stay out of Jahlil Okafor’s kitchen, though.
