James Harden’s Signature Adidas Sneaker Is Getting Its First Colorway

It’s been a heck of an 18 months for James Harden. In 2015, he was the MVP runner-up, dragging the Houston Rockets to the Western Conference Finals. Then everything fell apart in Houston’s locker room, Harden seemingly lost interest, and he didn’t even make an All-NBA team. With a new coach and a new roster, the arrow is trending back upward for Harden. He’s leading the league in assists and bringing back the MVP chatter, and now he’s even reclaiming his coolness on the sneaker front.

Harden’s back with the “Imma Be A Star” colorways of his Harden Vol. 1 shoe, which look pretty fresh. They feature black Primeknit and full BOOST TPU.

As for the name, allow Harden to explain, via the adidas press release:

“As every young kid, you have dreams…you have aspirations. You ask for things when you’re a kid and one day, I asked my mom for some money and I wrote her a note,” Harden explained. “It said, ‘Could u wake me up at 7:00 and could u leave me a couple of dollars. P.S. Keep this paper. Imma be a star.’

That note is repeated on the sockliner inside the shoe. The black-with-gold-accents Imma Be A Star drops on November 23 for $160, just in time for some holiday shopping.
