Jeremy Lin seemed like he really was enjoying himself in Charlotte this past season. The former Harvard star helped lead the Hornets to the playoffs before they were eventually knocked out by Miami, but even though he openly said he wanted to resign in Buzz City, he ended up going to Brooklyn on a three-year $36 million deal.

Lin had previously taken to reddit to individually thank his Hornets teammates for their successful season, and now he’s using the website again, this time thanking the fans for their support. After one Charlotte fan made a post thanking Lin for what he did for the city, he returned the favor, saying:

Man, thank you guys for embracing me last year. It really was my most enjoyable season in the NBA, and a big part of that was because of the fans (especially the kids who showed up with mohawks lol). It was awesome to be a part of a season that surpassed expectations and brought the city its first playoff win in years. I will always cherish my time in Charlotte, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to continue seeing what I can do as a basketball player. Thank you Buzz City!!

Although Hornets fans are assuredly bummed they won’t have Lin next season, they can’t blame him for taking the opportunity to play for more money and an increased role with a rebuilding team in Brooklyn.
