Jimmy Butler Hopes Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, And Other Teammates Call Him On ‘Some Bullsh*t’

If you’re a basketball fan in Chicago, here’s to hoping you’re a fan of mercury. Jimmy Butler, Rajon Rondo, and Dwyane Wade will form one of the NBA’s odder star trios in the 2016-17 season, with many wondering whether the three can manage not to murder each other when there are six wanting hands, but still only one ball to sate them in crunch time.

Butler, for his part, is at least saying all the right things about his prickly new roster territory.

That all sounds good and well, but one must remember that Butler called out coach Fred Hoiberg in December last season, that Rondo nearly killed coaches Rick Carlisle and George Karl, both, with his last two teams, and that Wade has shown Kobe-like flashes of ball-stopping denial about his declining athleticism in his mid-thirties. Then there’s the ugly reality that none of these three control freaks are especially rangy shooters, either.

It’s going to be a weird year in Chicago. If the Bulls make it work, it will take a lot of surprises from their nice young core of up-and-coming players, selflessness from their stars, and better shooting than their roster is likely capable of. For all their bluster, though, the Bulls will be a fun follow nonetheless.
