The Wizards Expect John Wall To Miss Two Weeks With A Knee Injury

John Wall is on the shelf for the Washington Wizards for at least a fortnight.

The Wizards superstar will reportedly miss at least two weeks for the team, though it’s not as bad as many initially feared when the guard underwent an MRI on Friday.

The team announced on Saturday morning that Wall’s knee inflammation will only require injections to reduce swelling, a relief for fans who though his knee discomfort was more serious.

According to the team website, Wall felt discomfort in his knee and swelling after a knee-to-knee knock on November 7 against the Dallas Mavericks, and it appears that their superstar guard’s injury won’t require surgery.

Following consultation with Dr. Richard D. Parker at the Cleveland Clinic Marymount and Wizards Head Team Physician Wiemi Douoguih, Wall will receive PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and viscosupplementation injections to reduce the inflammation in his left knee. He is expected to miss approximately two weeks.

That’s good news for the Wizards for sure, who currently sit in a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference and are six games behind the scorching hot Boston Celtics. Making sure Wall is at 100 percent for the postseason is what matters most, of course, but at least his injury should not hamper him long-term. And that’s great news for Washington, because if the start to the season is any indication, they could be in a fight for a playoff spot.
