Karl-Anthony Towns Will ‘Take It From Here’ For The Wolves Following Kevin Garnett’s Retirement

Karl-Anthony Towns is the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise and it certainly appears that he received valuable instruction and mentoring from Kevin Garnett. Garnett officially announced his retirement on Friday and, as you may expect, the NBA world came together in praising the “Big Ticket” for a phenomenal career.

Initially, Towns provided something of a bewildering response to the news, as the reigning Rookie of the Year took to Twitter to share this.

Just hours later, though, Towns released the Instagram post above, stating that he and Garnett “talked” and the reigning Rookie of the Year said, “I know what I must do. I’ll take it from here”. This is enough to generate real excitement from any NBA fan, especially one with any ties to the T-Wolves organization. The sky is limit for the 20-year-old big man already, and with the knowledge extracted from Garnett and the motivation to “take it from here”, the mere existence of Towns in the NBA for the next decade-plus should be a sight to behold.

It seems fair to say that Karl-Anthony Towns would have preferred to be around Kevin Garnett every day for an additional year, but now that Garnett is riding off into the sunset, Towns appears poised to carry the torch, both for the organization and the league as a whole.
