As soon as Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City to join Steph Curry and company with the Warriors, attention was turned toward Russell Westbrook. We all want to see what he does this season, because in the past when Durant was injured Westbrook tended to go completely insane and put up crazy numbers, but we were also wondering what would happen a year from now. Would Westbrook stay with the Thunder? Or would he leave in free agency like Durant?

Now that Westbrook’s extension with Oklahoma City is official, Durant, naturally, was asked what he thinks about that surprising development. As he told Michael Lee of The Vertical, Durant, in short, just wants everybody to be happy.

“I’m happy to see any player in this league do whatever they want to do. As long as he wasn’t pressured to do anything and felt like he did everything he wanted to do. And that’s how I feel about every player in this league. It’s good for him, man. It’s good for his family. It’s good for the people in Oklahoma City that love to watch him play and love to have him on their team.”

“I got nothing but positive energy and vibes for everybody. I don’t have no beef with anybody or wish no ill will on anybody. So if he did what he wanted to do, that’s better. That’s great for him.”

While it feels a little weird that Durant mentioned the possibility of Westbrook feeling “pressured” to sign with Oklahoma City, beyond that he seems to be trying to keep everything cool between he and his former teammate. Westbrook is doing the same thing.

Everybody is happy, and Westbrook will probably try and murder the Warriors this season. Can’t wait.
