Watch Kobe Bryant Go Off For A Vintage 38 Points In A Win Over The Timberwolves

Treasure moments like last night, Los Angeles Lakers fans. Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 38 points on 10-21 shooting (and a scorching 7-11 from the 3-point line) to lead the Lakers to victory at home over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Black Mamba even took the game over in the fourth, with 14 points in the final six minutes when the game was very much in doubt.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, despite rostering one of the best young players in the NBA in Rookie of the Year favorite Karl-Anthony Towns, are one of the very worst teams in the NBA right now (Hey, just like the Lakers!), and supposed defensive stopper Andrew Wiggins got roasted by the wiliest of wily veterans.

Sadly, Kobe’s Vintage Vino night didn’t include any turn-back-the-clock dunk moments to write the kids about, but we can forgive his aging body for that. On a happier note, Kobe balanced out his scoring with five rebounds and five assists. Beyond that, the next wave of Laker stars had great nights as well — Julius Randle had a double-double and D’Angelo Russell had 18 points on 6-12 shooting from the field. Sure, Byron Scott isn’t handling them as well as he could, but for one night, all those problems washed away in the tide of Kobe’s magnificence.
