Becky Hammon may be the first full-time female assistant coach in NBA history, but Lisa Leslie isn’t ruling out the possibility that she could be the second.

Appearing on Larry King Now, Leslie, the former Los Angeles Sparks center, said she would at least consider an offer to coach in the NBA. Specifically, when asked, she said she could help the Los Angeles Clippers with their post game. Below are some of Leslie’s answers about the possibility of coaching, specifically in the NBA.

I could coach. I haven’t had the desire to coach because I have little kids, but I would never say never. That’s definitely something I’m totally capable of doing.

I definitely think that I have some knowledge of the game that would definitely help their [L.A.’s] post game, post players, footwork, and how to defend offensively and defensively. For sure, I could help that team immediately.

It doesn’t sound like Leslie is necessarily eager to get back into the game. There’s something to be said for enjoying regular life, after all. That aside, Leslie’s career in the WNBA was certainly prolific, and knowledge of the game definitely isn’t gender-specific.
