Mark Cuban Ate Some Humble Pie On Twitter Over His Houston Rockets Comments

Before the NBA playoffs began, Grantland ran a sizable profile of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, in which he said of the Mavs’ first round opponent – the Houston Rockets – “That’s not a very good team over there.” In the only real front office rivalry in the NBA, those were shots fired at Rockets GM Daryl Morey.

So, about that. Not only did the Rockets complete a sweep of Cubes’ Mavs (a 4-1 series victory) in the first round of the playoffs, they’re also about to play in the Western Conference Finals, something the Mavericks haven’t done since their title run in 2011 (they actually haven’t even made it out of the first round since). So, after the Rockets completed their Semifinals win against L.A. on Sunday, Cuban finally ate some crow on Twitter.

Morey, for his part, took the high road in response, as much as he probably would have loved to rub Cuban’s face in it.

“Classy” is a hopelessly overused term, so we’ll just say good on both of these guys for having a Twitter handshake before they sharpen their knives again in the offseason.
