The New ‘NBA 2K17’ Trailer Ends With The ‘Inside the NBA’ Crew Rapping In A Cypher

Kevin Harlan. Greg Anthony. Chris Webber. Steve Smith. Brent Barry. Doris Burke. Clark Kellogg. David Aldridge. Ernie Johnson. Kenny Smith. Shaquille O’Neal.

Those 11 names are some of the most recognizable commentators, reporters, and studio analysts the league has to offer. And in NBA 2K17, they’ll all be there to ensure the newest edition of the basketball world’s foremost gaming franchise is more realistic than ever.

For the first time, users will hear the voice of secondary announcers throughout the season to accompany the lead commentating team of Harlan and Anthony. Aldridge, one of the league’s most veteran and well-respected journalists, provides new sideline commentary and joins Shaq and Kenny interviewing MyPLAYERS. The game features over 150 new and original soundbites from players and coaches, too.

Just how lifelike does all this dynamic commentary make NBA 2K17? “It’s no different than when I’m doing the job on TV,” Burke gushes. The announcers contribute little-known factoids during game action as well, like Webber praising James Harden, who finished fourth in three-point play opportunities last season, for being “so good at finishing and-1s.”

With that realism, of course, come studio hijinks like impromptu rapping, crooning, and beat-boxing from the Inside the NBA crew. While that’s obviously not for everyone, the accompanying advancements in commentating for 2K17 are sure to make Shaq and Kenny’s horseplay worth it.
