When he was a young teen, LeBron James christened himself “The Chosen One,” and with that simple phrase put the weight of the world on his shoulders for the Cavaliers’ long-suffering fan base. No professional sports team in Cleveland has won a championship in more than 50 years, and when LeBron skipped town for greener pastures in Miami, the prospects were looking bleaker than ever.

But then the prodigal son made his triumphant return, the team fortified its roster, and the Cavs marched all the way to NBA Finals, where they’re tied 1-1 with the Golden State Warriors headed into Game 3 at Quicken Loans Arena Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Cavs fans are starting to believe again, and today, Nike unveiled an excellent new full page ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer that reflects that sentiment.

The world’s leading shoe and apparel conglomerate has always been known for its genius marketing campaigns, and this is just another example of the type of simple-yet-clever catchphrases that put a twist on an old cliché and perfectly capture the psychology of athletes and sports fanatics everywhere.
