Oregon State’s Jared Cunningham Adds To His Dunk Collection

Oregon State Basketball hasn’t been relevant in two decades, since Gary Payton and A.C. Green played in Corvallis. After being No. 1 in the nation and a No. 1 seed in the 1981 NCAA Tournament, the program’s bottom was its 0-18 mark in the Pac-10 in 2008. That led to the hiring of Craig Robinson — brother to First Lady Michelle Obama — as their head coach, whose first recruiting class included athletic guard Jared Cunningham.

Since then the Beavers have taken small steps to being more than a guaranteed W in the Pac-12, including beating Texas in November in New Jersey. One huge reason is Cunningham, a 6-4 junior from Oakland who dropped 37 points on the Longhorns on Nov. 19 and has, to be understated, huge hops.

Check out what he did last night against Howard:

That reverse alley-oop comes almost a year after the first dunk that put him on the map, a put-back against Arizona. If you say, “Kiss the sky” in Corvallis, people will know what you’re talking about.
