Here’s Pau Gasol Twice Reminding Jahlil Okafor You Can’t Bring It Weak To The Rim

There are two undeniable facts about the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015: 1) The team isn’t very good, 2) Rookie center Jahlil Okafor is the team’s brightest spot. Through six career games, the former Duke star averaged 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. It’s not too surprising, as Okafor has been praised for having an ultra-mature offensive game ever since he’s been a highly sought after recruit out of Chicago.

The crazy thing is Okafor has done well against some pretty solid big men, save for his 10-point performance against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz. On Monday night, Big Jah got brought to school by one of the savviest centers in the league, Pau Gasol. Okafor tried to bust out one of his patented spin moves, which Gasol swated into the stands.

That wasn’t the only time Gasol brought Okafor to school. Philly’s young star tried to go up and under, and again, Gasol timed his jump perfectly for Okafor’s shot and swatted the ball out of bounds.

Okafor’s future in the Association is impossibly bright, and it’s not crazy to think that he’s going to one day earn a spot among the best centers in the league. For now, though, he has the unenviable task of having to deal with a very motivated Pau Gasol.
