For most of Kyle Lowry‘s career, he’s been built like a fire hydrant. But a new post-workout photo uploaded to Kyle O’Quinn’s Instagram account shows a noticeably slimmed down version of the Raptors’ All-Star point guard. The pic above features Lowry after a run with O’Quinn, C.J. Watson and others.
NBA players have been transforming their bodies in the offseason via cutting-edge sports science technologies and an evolving knowledge of nutritional and dietary needs for years now. Remember how shocked we all were when LeBron James debuted his chiseled new physique not long after announcing his prodigal return to Cleveland last summer?
Black clothes are slimming, of course, but Lowry looks like he’s shed more than just a few nominal pounds. Maybe it was in anticipation of the newly-designed Raptors’ uniforms that the team unveiled yesterday. Regardless, it certainly got people’s attention.
Clippers guard J.J. Redick even chimed in via the comments section to express his disbelief that he was even looking at the same person.
