Richard Jefferson is enjoying a renaissance. The 35-year-old veteran has been playing major minutes for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, even starting when Kevin Love had to sit out with concussion symptoms. Many a fan of the league is reminded of playoff series from years ago when he takes the floor, and feeling lost in time.

Jefferson, despite playing alongside the likes of Tim Duncan and Jason Kidd in previous Finals runs, says his new teammate LeBron James has a greatness to which no one elses compares. In a new column published by The Players’ Tribune, Jefferson says the following:

I don’t care if you’re a LeBron “fan,” or not, I have seen it: Bron has something I’ve never seen. The way he says “follow me and I’ll take you there” with actions, more than words, is like no one else I’ve ever played with. He’s the kind of leader who makes you want to carry the weight too. I feel indebted to him. We all do.

Jefferson also waxes on a less loaded matter, explaining the “Lil’ Kev” meme, which has him driving around with a laminated photo of his teammate Kevin Love strapped into the front passenger seat. Check out the full story here.
