Russell Westbrook Beautifully Carved Up The Suns Before Setting Up A Steven Adams Jam

Russell Westbrook made Phoenix’s defense look silly all afternoon on Saturday, but this was the high point. During the fourth quarter of the Thunder’s 114-101 win over the Suns, Westbrook slithered his way through the opposing defense before dropping a gorgeous dime to Steven Adams for a dunk.

Westbrook had the ball at the top of the key and saw a line of three defenders between himself and the rim. First, there was Devin Booker, who got out of his way thanks to a screen. Then, because Russ was feeling it all game, dude busted out a gorgeous Shammgod to make Tyler Ulis look silly. Seriously, he did a Shammgod! Look at it from this angle!

This was all kinds of awesome, but there was still one more person between him and the rim. Marquese Chriss went up in the air to swat Westbrook’s shot attempt, only instead of shooting, the Thunder’s guard dumped the ball off to Steven Adams. This led to the easiest two points of Adams’ career.

Westbrook was brilliant against Phoenix even beyond this. He went for 26 points, 22 assists, and 11 rebounds on 9-for-17 shooting. It was one of the best all-around games of his career, and this was almost certainly his best moment. Any time we see a Shammgod in a game, it’s great. This was no exception.
