Russell Westbrook Has Trained Thunder Reporters To Answer His Questions For Him

Russell Westbrook‘s relationship with the media hasn’t always been rainbows and coloring books. For certain, there have been moments where he’s let his temper get the better of him, but for the most part, he’s a consummate pro who fulfills his media obligations yet isn’t afraid to break the monotony of that enterprise with a little sorely-needed levity from time to time.

Like anyone else, he isn’t immune to offering up boilerplate responses to requisite lines of inquiry designed solely to fill column inches, and on some days, it gets to the point where his presence for those types of questions is more or less superfluous. In other words, the reporters know exactly how he’s going to respond, so they might as well answer for themselves.

That’s what happened on Tuesday prior to the Thunder’s showdown against the Warriors when someone asked him how he plans on approaching a matchup with the best team in the NBA.

We can only hope that Russ keeps adding this sort of Popovichian acerbity to his press conferences. He’s already in the conversation for the most compelling player in the league, and if we can get some value added to even the most mundane of moments, the league-wide entertainment factor will be through the roof.
