Stanley Johnson’s Soaring Slam Coaxes A Ridiculous Comparison To LeBron James From Reggie Miller

We almost can’t blame Reggie Miller.

Arizona’s Stanley Johnson really is a man among boys at the amateur level, and combines such physical prowess with a skill-game good enough to earn Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. He’s a great college player and has the chance to be a very good pro, too – the 18 year-old is a surefire top-10 pick for a reason.

And it bears mentioning that Turner Sports borrows their NBA analysts every March to cover the NCAA Tournament, too. Miller, Charles Barkley, and company don’t exactly get to spend all season watching college hoops.

But is Johnson really the “reincarnation of LeBron James?” Not even close. But that didn’t stop Miller from making the comparison following Johnson’s awesome dunk during the Wildcats first round win over Texas Southern.

Here’s Miller:

Wow. Man-child. I’m sorry. I mean, we may be seeing the reincarnation of LeBron James. I mean, LeBron James had this type of body at his age.

No, Reggie – we are sorry you led casual viewers to believe that Johnson is the second coming of arguably the greatest basketball player ever.

Johnson had 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting in Arizona’s 21-point win.
