Stephen Curry is on a championship-winning team and a league MVP, and, as recently as last year, he was still getting ID’d at restaurants. That “Babyfaced Assassin” nickname may not have stuck (he’s in one-name territory at this point, just like LeBron), but he’s still babyfaced. With the Warriors’ title in hand, he was in high enough spirits to poke fun at himself during ESPN’s postgame coverage.
After Dwyane Wade (who did a pretty darn good job as an analyst) congratulated Steph on his rise to fame by saying, “All the young kids want to be like you,” Steph quipped, “Because I look like them.” And he may be right! His unassuming appearance just adds to the wonder he inspires when he does things on the basketball court that no one’s ever seen before.
