People Are Going To Have Strong Opinions About The New Steph Curry Luxury Line Sneakers

If you like jokes about old people lacking fashion, the NBA Finals were a great time for you. When Steph Curry‘s latest sneakers, the Chef Curry Lows, were released by Under Armour, remarks about their particularly dad-like qualities dominated social media for the rest of the series.

Perhaps in rebuke to the haters, Under Armour is now releasing a different take on the controversial kicks. The Curry Lux Lows, which will come out later this week, were announced on Monday.

In addition, a new version of the Curry One will become available. They were announced a few days ago and they look a lot less…monochromatic.

Both styles are more in the progressive, trend-embracing vein that the basketball sneaker community expects, unlike the much-roasted Chefs, which seemed like a shoe geared towards, well, the exact opposite of the basketball sneaker community. Reverting back to the fare that hoop heads anticipate, though, does not mean that people weren’t going to joke about the new kicks:

Curry cannot win here. This is, of course, because he is very famous and successful, so people will always try to rag on him. It’s also because he has gotten that way by playing basketball in a way that no one has before and that makes people mad for various reasons. Plus the Under Armour logo is no sight for sore eyes, and for some people, it makes most of their products difficult to look at.

If you can’t get enough Curry footwear jokes, well, it doesn’t seem like people are going to stop clowning on his sneakers, no matter what.
