Tony Parker is getting better, but he won’t be ready to play for the San Antonio Spurs debut their new jerseys in the preseason. The Spurs guard is recovering from an injury he suffered last postseason, but he still has a long injury timetable ahead of him as the season approaches.

According to News 4 San Antonio, this is what Parker said on Austrailain TV channel LPG TV about his injury.

“It’s OK. It’s OK. It’s getting better and better. I’m starting to run like a little bit. I’m walking pretty well. I think it’s still going to be a long process. It’s still going to take like another four or five months but I am very happy in with the progress. I am in advance in my rehab.”

Parker also said he’d love to help the Spurs win one more title for Manu Ginobili, who returns to the team this fall for his 16th and likely final season.

“Hopefully we can finish with the championship for Manu’s last year hopefully but we never know if it’s going to be Manu’s last year. Maybe he’s going to come back again. As long as he keeps playing, everybody’s going to be happy.”

With Parker and Manu back for San Antonio it will feel like old times for Spurs fans. You know, once Parker is able to actually take the court.
