Hey, remember that kid in Alaska who got suspended from school for making a 14-foot "Bong Hits 4 Jesus"" banner during the Olympic Torch parade?  Well guess what, they’re making a movie about him.

[Joseph] Frederick already had a contentious relationship with the school principal when he got suspended for 10 days for displaying a "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" message on a 14-foot sign outside the school. The principal felt the banner promoted drug use.

"The heart of this story is the relationship between a father and son," [Film Producer] Shamberg said. "Frank Frederick was an insurance adjuster facing the loss of his job if his son didn’t back down."

"The tone is ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,’ about a young man standing up for his rights," [Variety]

So, how did the case turn out?  The kid took the case to the Supreme Court, they ruled against him, the dad got fired, and now they both teach English in China.  No, seriously.  Same thing happened in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, right?  That was the heartwarming tale of Mr. Smith, who stood up for free speech, but lost and MOVED TO F*KING CHINA, right?

This wiil be awesome.  It’ll be just like David and Goliath, except this time, Goliath beats David’s ass and bangs his wife, causing David to renounce God and become a communist.  I smell feel-good movie of the year.
