As history has taught us, you can’t withdraw every last dollar from the ATM on a popular TV show or movie without publishing a book that was “written” by the show or film’s main character. From Leslie Knope’s book about Pawnee, Indiana to Beavis and Butthead’s “Huh Huh for Hollywood,” studios, networks and publishing companies sure know how to suck every last dime out of us, and now that’s certainly no different for Paramount and Random House’s Crown Publishing, as they’re releasing an autobiography of Ron Burgundy, entitled, “Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings” in time for the release of Anchorman: The Legend Continues.
Written as a memoir of the mustachioed lothario, Burgundy’s book, hitting shelves on Nov. 19, will cover all aspects of his life, from his childhood and career success to his zest for women and love of his dog Baxter. And it may very well answer the question to one important question…
“I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written. I’m too close to the work,” “Burgundy” said in a news release. “I will tell you this much: the first time I sat down and read this thing … I cried like a [godd**n] baby, and you can take that to the bank!” (Via ABC News)
Whatever, take my money now. I know, I’m a total sucker with a frat boy heart.
But even cooler is the revelation that the Newseum in Washington D.C. is actually going to give the Channel 4 news team’s leader his own exhibit, so now I have to go ahead and plan another trip to the nation’s capital. But at least I know that Joe Biden will go see it with me.
